In biochemistry, microbiology and cell culture applications, aspirators are often used for the removal and disposal of liquids in laboratory environment. The aspiration pump creates a vacuum in the collection bottle, which pulls in liquids due to the differential pressure. The liquid is collected in the bottle, and can be disposed of when full.
Versatile model 2511 standard duty, oil-free station is an economical, portable solution for aspirating, filtering or rinsing. Added accessories include 1.2 liter autoclave, bleach resistant collection receiver, vacuum regulator and gauge, hydrophobic in-line filter, automatic shut-off when the receiver is full.
All wetted parts of our piston vacuum pump model 2511 are treated for corrosion protection from moisture. It is recommended vacuum supply for aspirating aqueous solutions including buffers, but not for acidic, basic or organic vapors or gases.
High flow model 2515 standard duty, oil-free station is an economical, portable solution for aspirating or filtering. Station includes a 1.2 liter collection receiver with port lid, vacuum regulator & gauge, and hydrophobic in-line filter. Receiver is autoclavable and bleach resistant.
Automatic float valve shutoff protects the 2515 vacuum pump model when the receiver is full. For vacuum filtration, the receiver port lid accepts filter funnel with a stopper. All wetted parts are treated for corrosion protection from moisture. It is recommended vacuum supply for aspirating aqueous solutions including buffers, but not for acidic, basic or organic vapors or gases.
The most common reason for vacuum pump failure in aspiration applications is the ingestion of liquid into the pump mechanism. Liquids ingested into the pump mechanism will lead to the valves failing or a diaphragm rupturing. Welch Aspiration Stations integrate features that protect your pump and your application:
