Vacuum for Leak Testing

Leak testing is used in quality control to detect discharges of various manufactured products like for example laboratory components, pressure vessel components or alloy wheels.

The test chamber is placed under vacuum using a pump, and the component is filled with helium gas. The volume of helium that leaks from the component is measured to calculate the flow rate, and determine whether it is within the specified permissible range.
